At Thames Water, we’re looking for a results-driven Senior Supplier Manager (Revenue & Collections) to drive operational excellence, manage key supplier relationships—including Debt Collection Agencies and Water-Only Companies—and ensure a seamless Bill-to-Cash process. What you’ll be doing as Senior Supplier Manager (Revenue & Collections)
As the Senior Supplier Manager (Revenue & Collections), you will drive operational performance across key suppliers within Income, ensuring a seamless Bill to Cash process. You’ll build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with partners to deliver positive outcomes for both Thames Water and our customers.
You will be accountable for managing our key suppliers, including Debt Collection Agencies and Water-Only Companies, who bill customers on our behalf.
In addition, you’ll be responsible for motivating and leading your team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on delivering fair and consistent customer outcomes, while safeguarding Thames Water from preventable losses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyse performance to ensure key drivers are understood, addressing any issues that impact results.
- Manage suppliers to optimise Bill to Cash performance.
- Oversee the external collections journey, managing relationships with third-party debt collectors and Water-Only Companies.
- Build and track KPIs, focusing on risk metrics, portfolio performance, and recoveries, especially for Water-Only Companies or utilities.
- Oversee commercial agreements, ensuring deviations or risks are proactively managed.
- Collaborate with finance teams to analyse billing, revenue, and cash forecasts.
- Manage budget expenditure, identifying risks and opportunities for optimisation.
- Implement and maintain supplier controls and governance processes.
- Collaborate with leadership on high-impact, transformational projects.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance the customer experience and meet revenue and cash targets.
- Provide timely and accurate performance reports, ensuring all controls and processes are in place.
Base Location & Working Pattern
- Hybrid working – 2 days per week in our Swindon office.
- Regular travel is required to visit suppliers across the UK.
What you should bring to the role
- Expertise in Bill-to-Cash Journeys: Deep understanding of the end-to-end bill-to-cash process, with a focus on optimising cash flow and reducing bad debt.
- Proven Supplier Management Success: Proven experience in effectively performance-managing Debt Collection Agencies and Water-Only Companies (WOCs) to drive results.
- Track Record of Driving Performance: Ability to lead and implement collections strategies that deliver measurable improvements.
- Target-Focused Leadership: Hands-on approach to setting, managing, and surpassing challenging cash collection targets.
- Financial Acumen: Strong budgeting, forecasting, and P&L accountability experience, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Exceptional Coaching & Leadership: Skilled in leading and developing teams, fostering high performance and engagement.
- Persuasive Communication: Ability to influence senior stakeholders and suppliers to align with strategic goals.

- Competitive salary between £54,000 - £60,000 per annum.
- Pension: Maximum of 12% = 2 x employee contribution.
- Annual Leave: 26 days holiday, increasing to 30 with service. (plus bank holidays)
