- Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior staff, reviewing and delegating tasks as appropriate.
- Prepare concept and detailed drainage strategies.
- Develop levels strategies and carry out earthwork appraisals.
- Produce planning documentation such as Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Technical Notes, and Utilities Statements.
- Manage and secure technical approvals for S104, S38, S278 and other related applications.
- Strong technical knowledge and familiarity with relevant standards and guidance including SSG, Building Regulations, DMRB, and CIRIA C753 (SuDS Manual).
- Proficient in MicroDrainage/Causeway Flow and AutoCAD at an advanced level. Experience with Civil 3D/Site 3D is beneficial.
- Proven experience across project stages including pre-planning, planning, detailed design, and achieving technical approvals for S104, S38, S278 schemes.
Benefits:
- Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
- Annual salary reviews each July.
- 37.5-hour working week with flexible start/finish times.
- Paid overtime or time off in lieu of hours beyond the standard working week.
- Annual bonus scheme through Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) – tax-free element applies after 12 months’ continuous service.
- Company pension scheme (Scottish Widows): 5% employer contribution (on all earnings), 3% minimum employee contribution.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 26 days after 2 years of service.
- Access to the You At Work benefits platform, offering discounts on gyms, retail, insurance, and access to financial and medical advice.
- Interest-free annual season ticket loan.
