Parking Design Engineer

Role Overview

• As a Parking Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing controlled parking zones and minor traffic schemes. Your expertise will ensure the efficient management of traffic and parking, enhancing financial position and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and gather data for parking scheme designs.
• Prepare detailed drawings and cost estimates for parking projects.
• Inspect contractor work for quality and adherence to specifications.
• Liaise with traffic teams, contractors, and statutory representatives.
• Respond to public queries and prepare responses for elected officials.
• Promote Equal Opportunities, Customer Care, and Environmental policies.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in traffic or parking scheme design.
• Proficiency in computerised design systems.
• Strong analytical skills for data collection and interpretation.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders.
• Ability to manage and mentor junior staff.
• Knowledge of legislative matters related to parking and traffic management.

Additional Duties

• Lead the detailed design of complex parking schemes.
• Manage the annual programming of parking schemes.
• Participate in recruitment and staffing matters.
• Produce and present reports on project progress

This role does not require a DBS check. The successful candidate will report to the Parking Schemes Manager and may be required to undertake additional duties as directed to meet service demands.
