Buyer (Asia Region)

An opportunity has arisen to work for a leading manufacturing company for an experienced Buyer to join their Procurement team reporting directly to the Procurement Manager.  The overall purpose of the role will be to manage to end to end buying process, negotiating and assessing products to ensure quality and cost effective purchases are maximised at all times.

This role would suit someone who has experience of managing and negotiating with multiple suppliers and can demonstrate excellent negotiation and communication skiils.

Key Accountabilities:

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers from UK, Europe and Asia
• Assessment and sourcing of high quality products and supplies
• Supplier conformance through managing and monitoring the supply of materials against requirements and standards
• Negotiation of material costs, payment terms and carriage, optimising cost and quality
• Delivering buying processes within agreed timescales as determined by the business
• Monitoring of market trends and supplier performance specifically with reference to competitor performance

Person Specification:

• Proven buying experience
• Knowledge of the supply-chain and procurement processes
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Ability to converse with suppliers internationally 
• Proficient in Procurement systems and Microsoft Office
