Lifeline and Out of Hours Operator

📍 Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf
⏰ Hours: 24 hours a week, shift work 
📅 Contract: 8 Weeks
💷 Pay: £14.13
We are currently recruiting for a Lifeline and Out of Hours Operator to provide vital support in handling emergency and social care calls. This role is perfect for someone with excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Handling emergency and out-of-hours calls, prioritising risk and following agreed processes
✔ Responding to community alarm and telecare calls, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals
✔ Making proactive well-being calls as part of a preventative approach
✔ Supporting Social Care services during daytime hours and assisting with out-of-hours emergencies
✔ Monitoring and maintaining telecare units and updating client records
✔ Liaising with Registered Social Landlords for emergency repairs and community alarm responses
✔ Monitoring lone workers and responding appropriately in emergency situations
✔ Logging and transferring misdirected calls to the correct service area
✔ Assisting with testing and programming of alarm equipment
✔ Monitoring severe weather warnings and informing key officers accordingly
✔ Ensuring smooth handover of information between shifts
✔ Following emergency procedures to maintain service continuity

What We’re Looking For:

✅ Strong customer service and communication skills
✅ Ability to stay calm under pressure and assess risk effectively
✅ Experience in a call handling or contact centre environment (desirable)
✅ Basic IT skills to log and update client information
✅ Flexible and receptive to changing shift patterns
✅ Understanding of social care and emergency response services (preferred but not essential)
