Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible, including potential evenings/weekends)
Salary: PAYE: £30.50 per hour | Umbrella: £38.89 per hour

Are you a dedicated Social Worker with a passion for supporting children and families? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking two Social Workers to join the Children’s Services Family and Friends Team in Hengoed for a 12-week temporary assignment to meet short-term demand. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Deliver high-quality assessments and care management to children and families, ensuring their welfare and safeguarding needs are met.
  • Develop and implement outcome-focused intervention plans, working closely with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
  • Maintain accurate case records and provide reports for Court or Panel meetings as required.
  • For Fostering Team roles: Recruit, train, assess, and support foster carers, contributing to recruitment and retention targets.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes and represent the service professionally.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A qualified Social Worker with a Degree/Diploma in Social Work and registration with Social Care Wales (or equivalent).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding protocols, and evidence-based practice.
  • Strong communication, report-writing, and case management skills.
  • Experience in multi-agency working, child protection, or care proceedings is desirable.
  • A full UK Category B driving licence with business-use insurance and the ability to travel across the borough.
  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends when required.
Essential Requirements:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check and Criminal Convictions Declaration.
  • Social Care Wales registration.
  • Full UK driving licence and car insurance (business use).
  • Health Declaration/Questionnaire.
  • Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
  • 5 years of references/work history.
  • CV and proof of qualifications (Social Work Degree desirable).
