Job Description

Graduate Teaching Assistant – KS2 Intervention Support

Want to gain hands-on classroom experience before teacher training or a career in education?

*** Graduate Teaching Assistant
*** £80 – £110 per day
*** September 2025 – July 2026
*** School Location: Ward of Erdington
*** Small group intervention support across KS2

The Role
You’ll join a supportive KS2 team, working with pupils in Years 3 to 6 to deliver small group interventions in literacy and numeracy. Your focus will be on helping children close learning gaps, improve confidence, and stay on track for age-related expectations. You’ll also assist teachers with classroom tasks, behaviour support, and adapting resources to suit different learning styles.

The Candidate
You’re a graduate who enjoys working with children and wants to make a positive impact in the classroom. You’re patient, reliable, and confident delivering short activities or reinforcing lesson content. Experience in tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering with children is a bonus, especially in primary settings. This role is ideal if you’re planning to apply for teacher training, an educational psychology course, or further work in schools.

The School
This Erdington primary school is welcoming and committed to inclusive education. Staff collaborate closely to support pupil progress, and graduate TAs are given proper guidance and plenty of responsibility. You’ll work with experienced teachers who will help you build your confidence and classroom skills over the year.
