Job Description

Maths Graduate – Train to be a Teacher

Want to become a qualified teacher without racking up more student debt?

*** Maths Graduate – Train to be a Teacher
*** Temp to Perm – September 2025
*** £21,000 – £23,000 per annum
*** ‘Outstanding’ Secondary School, Central Birmingham
*** Train to become a teacher through this paid ITT

The Role
This salaried Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme lets you earn while you train. You’ll start the year as a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant—supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils in class and in small groups. As the year progresses, you’ll take on teaching responsibilities, working under the guidance of experienced mentors while studying towards QTS.

The Candidate
You must have a degree in maths or a related subject, along with a real desire to become a teacher. You’re confident, resilient, and ready to learn on the job. Prior experience in a school isn’t essential, but any tutoring, mentoring or voluntary work with young people will help. This is a direct, hands-on route into the profession—no lectures, no tuition fees.

The School
This ‘Outstanding’ school in Central Birmingham is known for its structured training and clear progression routes. You’ll be part of a high-performing maths department with a strong focus on CPD and career development. If you’re serious about becoming a teacher, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better starting point.
