Job Description

SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you a graduate with a passion for SEN and the drive to make a difference to pupils with additional needs?

*** SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant
*** September 2025 – July 2026
*** £81–£101 per day
*** Location: Yardley
*** 1:1 and small group support to children with autism and ADHD

The Role
As an SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils across the school who have additional needs, focusing mainly on autism and ADHD. You’ll deliver targeted interventions; help manage sensory and behavioural challenges and adapt learning resources to suit individual needs. Your support will take place in the classroom, in small group settings, and through dedicated 1:1 sessions, always working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.

The Candidate
You’re a graduate with a calm, patient nature and a strong interest in SEN. You might be considering a future in educational psychology, teaching, or therapy, and want practical school-based experience. Experience working with children or young people in any setting—especially those with additional needs—is highly desirable. You’ll need to be observant, proactive, and able to build trust quickly.

The School
This welcoming primary school in Yardley has a strong reputation for inclusive practice. The SEN team is experienced and well-resourced, with a clear focus on early intervention and personalised learning. Staff here value the contribution of graduate support and provide regular CPD and mentoring.

If you're ready to gain meaningful SEN experience and make a real impact—apply today.

Due to the volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
