This is a fantastic opportunity for a psychology graduate or undergraduate to gain valuable experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN). As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support Autistic children in a primary school setting, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop social, emotional, and communication skills. You will work closely with SENCo staff and class teachers, providing tailored support and implementing individualised learning strategies.

The school is looking for an undergraduate with a background in psychology or a related field. You should have a passion for working with children with SEN and be able to approach each child’s needs with patience, understanding, and empathy. Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach to meet the needs of individual pupils will be essential.

This ‘Outstanding’ primary school in Central Birmingham offers a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment for both students and staff. The school has a strong focus on inclusion, with a dedicated team that supports children with SEN. You will receive training and guidance as you gain hands-on experience supporting Autistic children in an educational setting.
