Communication Support Worker (CSW) - Haringey

Pertemps Education is looking for an experienced Communication Support Worker to join a specialist school for deaf students in Haringey. This role involves working across the school’s two sites: primarily based in the Secondary School but also supporting students in the Primary School when needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong British Sign Language (BSL) skills and experience working with deaf students in a school setting.

Role Overview:
  • Position: Communication Support Worker (CSW)
  • Location: Haringey
  • Interview Date: Immediate
  • Contract: 32.5, 5 days per week, Term Time (40 Weeks) - Permanent Contract
  • Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 (Depending on experience and qualifications)
About You:
  • Signature BSL Level 3 qualification or above
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of a wide range of pupils

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and group communication support for students across the primary and secondary sites.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers using British Sign Language (BSL).
  • Adapt learning materials and resources to suit individual student needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to deliver an inclusive education.
  • Support students’ social and emotional development, encouraging independence and confidence.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, sharing updates with teachers and parents. Promote a positive and supportive learning environment.
