Job Description
A specialist school in Coventry is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join their team, teaching pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties and Autism. This is a rewarding opportunity for a Special Needs Teacher who is committed to inclusive education and wants to make a meaningful difference in a supportive and well-resourced setting.
As a Special Needs Teacher, you will teach small classes of pupils with MLD and Autism, delivering personalised and engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs. You will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants and a strong leadership team who work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for both pupils and staff.
Job Role:
- Teaching a small class of pupils with MLD and Autism
- Planning and delivering highly differentiated and engaging lessons
- Creating a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment
- Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff
- Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCPs and individual support plans
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with MLD and/or Autism (desirable)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A patient, flexible and empathetic approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A welcoming and supportive staff team
- Small class sizes allowing for personalised teaching
