Job Description
Are you an experienced Complex Needs Teacher looking for the opportunity to make a real difference? This excellent special school in East Birmingham is seeking a Complex Needs Teacher to join their dedicated team, teaching a class of primary aged pupils with a range of complex learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment where children are happy, behaviour is good, and facilities are outstanding.
As a Complex Needs Teacher in this setting, you will plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils. Classes are small, and you will be supported by a team of skilled Teaching Assistants and an established leadership team who are committed to ensuring the very best outcomes for every child. The role will require patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach to help children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering lessons to primary aged pupils with complex needs.
- Differentiating learning to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants to provide consistent support.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive relationships.
- Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
- QTS and experience teaching in a SEND or complex needs setting.
- A strong understanding of strategies for supporting pupils with Autism, communication difficulties, or physical needs.
- A creative, flexible, and patient approach to teaching.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with complex needs.
