SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary SEN School – North Birmingham – September Start
Are you a patient, compassionate, and experienced Teaching Assistant looking to support children with Special Educational Needs? A fantastic SEN primary school in North Birmingham is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team of Teaching Assistants and Teachers. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with complex needs, including Autism, communication difficulties, and learning challenges.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to provide individualised support, promote positive behaviour, and help pupils reach their full potential in a nurturing environment. You will support pupils both 1-2-1 and in small groups, using a range of strategies to meet their individual needs. Your ability to build trusting relationships and maintain a calm, consistent approach will be key to success in this role.

Job Role:
  • Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs in a primary setting
  • Assisting with daily routines, classroom activities, and emotional regulation
  • Delivering tailored interventions to support academic and personal development
  • Promoting inclusive learning through encouragement and positive reinforcement
  • Collaborating with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals
