About the Role
This excellent provider of therapeutic residential care for young people is currently recruiting for a Therapeutic Residential Practitioner to join its amazing team. As a Therapeutic Residential Practitioner, you will provide essential emotional, social, educational, and physical support to young people in our client’s care. You will play a crucial role in helping them achieve positive outcomes while ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Care Standards 2015 and OFSTED requirements.

You will be based at one of the residential homes in the West Midlands, but flexibility is essential, as you may be required to work at other locations within the organisation when needed. This role requires a therapeutic residential practitioner who will complete “Sleep-ins” as this is a pivotal part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality therapeutic care and support to young people.
  • Act as a positive role model, encouraging positive behaviour and personal development.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate routines, boundaries, and expectations.
  • Support the educational development and achievements of the young people in care.
  • Act as a Key Worker, contributing to individual care plans and attending child care reviews.
  • Participate in social, recreational, and educational activities, encouraging young people’s engagement.
  • Collaborate with parents, partner agencies, and professionals to promote the well-being of young people.
  • Ensure all record-keeping is completed to a high standard and within required timeframes.
  • Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and annual holidays.
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child care.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or young people in a residential or therapeutic setting (preferred but not essential).
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while using initiative to respond to challenges.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A willingness to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and overnight stays.
  • A full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
