Southwark Council is looking for a Senior Education Welfare Officer to join their Family Early Help Service — a pivotal role that directly supports children, young people, and their families in accessing and remaining in education.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure children of compulsory school age attend and engage in education.
• Partner with schools, families, and young people to prevent exclusion and improve attendance.
• Lead on enforcement actions such as legal planning meetings, Education Supervision Orders, and court proceedings under the Education Act (1996).
• Support multi-agency plans and Team Around the Family interventions.
• Work with stakeholders to track and re-engage Children Missing Education (CME).
