Occupational Therapist – Major Adaptations Team (Independent Living Suffolk)
Location: Riverside House, Lowestoft, NR33 0EQ
Working pattern: Hybrid – 2–3 days office, 2 days WFH
Rate: £35 per hour (umbrella)

About the Role Pertemps are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist with strong Adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) experience to join Suffolk’s Major Adaptations Team (Independent Living Suffolk).
This role involves delivering high-quality front-line OT services, supporting independence, and ensuring service users have the right adaptations and equipment to remain safely in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering safe and timely occupational therapy assessments and reviews
• Supporting triage and reducing duplication across health and social care to reduce OT waiting lists
• Working with external care providers to ensure safe and appropriate moving and handling practices
• Reviewing care packages to ensure best value for Adult Social Care and effective use of equipment
• Reviewing and advising on double-handed care packages
• Providing mutual aid to other OT areas as required

About You To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Proven experience in adaptations and DFG assessments
• HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
• Strong knowledge of major housing adaptations, equipment provision, and safe moving and handling practices
• Ability to carry out holistic assessments and make recommendations to promote independence
