About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and inspiring Head of Art to join our team in January 2025. We are seeking an experienced and passionate teacher to lead our Art Department, guiding students to develop their creative skills and appreciation of the arts while driving academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a high-quality art curriculum that meets national standards.
  • Inspire and engage students across all key stages, from KS3 to KS5, to achieve their full creative and academic potential.
  • Manage and mentor a team of art teachers, providing support and professional development.
  • Organize exhibitions, workshops, and extracurricular activities to promote arts culture within the school and the community.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, implementing strategies to support differentiated learning needs.
  • Maintain resources, budgets, and art facilities to ensure a safe, dynamic, and conducive environment for art education.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to integrate arts across the curriculum.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching art at the secondary level, with a strong track record of student progress and achievement.
  • Leadership experience or potential, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues and students.
  • A creative, forward-thinking approach to curriculum design and student engagement.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
