Test & Inspection Engineer

Our client, the UK's leading provider of lightning and surge protection services, is renowned for designing, installing, and commissioning bespoke systems. They also specialise in testing, inspections, repairs, and maintenance. They are seeking skilled Test and Inspection Engineers to join their team, covering areas such as Twickenham, Croydon, Redhill, Woking, or Sutton, based on your location.

The Role
As a Test and Inspection Engineer, you will ensure electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments are safe, compliant, and efficient.
Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in commercia and industrial environments.
• Inspect and test electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, switchgear, and control equipment.
• Identify and document defects, non-compliances, and safety hazards.
• Provide detailed reports with recommendations for remedial actions.
• Ensure inspections meet BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations, and other standards.
• Maintain knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
• Communicate findings to clients and offering technical advice.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
• Participate in training to enhance technical skills.

The Candidate:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical inspection.
• City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing qualification and 18th Edition certification (essential).
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
• Strong knowledge of BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations, and relevant standards.
• Expertise in commercial and industrial electrical systems.
• Proficiency in electrical testing equipment and reporting software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• A valid UK driving licence (maximum 6 points).
