Job Description
The purpose of the role is to drive performance and directly impact pollution reduction, one of the top three deliverables for Thames Water. Our environmental performance is monitored and evaluated by our regulators using a range of measures, such as our compliance with our environmental permits and the number and severity of pollution incidents that we cause, which in turn informs our Environmental Performance Assessment (EPA).
As part of the Environmental Incident Investigations team, you will fully comprehensively investigate incidents to a high standard, report information to the Environment Agency about potential pollution incidents and ensure our records align, extract event learning, and feed into continuous improvement workstreams.

- Working pattern: 36 Hours (Mon-Fri)

- Working closely with field teams and other business areas to ensure that environmental performance is prioritised, and providing feedback (e.g. through training/presentations) where improvements can be made.
- Acting as the technical specialist, you will be responsible for developing and recording team processes and carrying out independent research projects on environmental subjects.
- Coaching and supporting others in your area of expertise, and offering day-to-day support for team queries and reviews, acting as a subject matter expert
- Collaborating within the team and wider business, and feeding into discussions around pollution reduction initiatives
- Reporting on team and business performance, maintaining key performance indicators and investigating where these deviate from the expected targets

What’s in it for you?

- Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
- Pension: Maximum of 12% = 2x employee contribution.
- Performance Related Pay Plan (PRPP): Max (of salary) = 10%. On Target (of salary) = 5%.
