What will you be doing as a North Oxfordshire Senior Process Technician?

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of technicians covering the North Oxford Water Production Area, you will ensure effective and continuous operation of sites, operating and optimizing all processes and equipment on water treatment works to ensure water quality, compliance, safety and operational efficiency.

You will be an experienced Process Technician who others turn to for information and advice, with a passion for improving H&S and team engagement.

  • Work with the production manager to assist with the smooth running of the team by taking over some day-to-day management or coordinator activities. (for example, assisting with process risk assessments, obtaining quotes, assisting with site inductions and reviewing RAMS)
  • Assisting with the efficiency programme. (for example, triad and peak tariff avoidance response)
  • Role model positive behavioural safety and site pride. Support and promote a positive H&S culture. (for example, supporting your colleagues to recognize and raise safety observations both good and bad, own resolution of issues, identify ‘Site Pride’ sites, assist with H&S action completion)
  • Step up to help cover activities when the production manager or technical coordinator is unavailable.
  • Participate in out-of-hours standby Rota.
  • Complete ADR and towing training to ensure critical cover for gas deliveries is provided.

What should you bring to the role?
  • An experienced Tech 1 or M&E Technician with knowledge of water treatment.
  • Demonstrate a ‘can-do’ attitude, have strong problem-solving abilities, and take a solution-focused approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Competent to use company IT systems and Microsoft Office.
  • IOSH trained or willing to complete H&S training.

What’s in it for you?
  • 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)

  • Ongoing performance development reviews to help you be your best and identify growth opportunities.
