Job Description
You will be part of the Wastewater Operations Leadership Team, in this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of Wastewater treatment services within the Mogden Catchment.
The overall purpose of the role is to meet customer expectations by driving performance by operating standards and environmental, legal, and regulatory obligations.
To ensure operations keep pace with these obligations, you must optimise investment to minimise risk and lead a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing as a Wastewater Treatment Area Manager
- Oversee the implementation of health and safety standards, recognising both general and process safety.
- Optimise the technical delivery of waste treatment and site maintenance through operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure delivery of maintenance schedules and recommend improvements based on local insight.
- Be responsible for compliance with environmental, legal, regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Steer optimal budgetary control of both operational and directly managed capital expenditure.
- Input operational needs (including resilience opportunities) into the Asset Planning process
- Share commissioning and agree on the takeover of newly constructed assets.
- Oversee stakeholder engagement for your area with the involvement of Asset and Engineering, Network and Pumping colleagues.
Base location: Mogden - Isleworth - TW7 7LW
Working pattern or hours – 36 hours a week Monday- Friday
What you should bring to the role
- Experienced leadership with a demonstrable ability to engage and motivate geographically distributed teams.
- A passion for health and safety with a strong track record in fostering a strong culture of H&S excellence.
- Be an advocate for the environment with a demonstrable track record of compliance and environmental excellence.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with demonstrable ability to manage budget and drive local accountability for cost control.
- Resilience to incident management scenarios and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ambassador for Thames Water with demonstrable ability to proactively engage & influence stakeholders and develop sustainable, long-lasting relationships both with treatment and in the wider waste business.
- UK Drivers Licence.
- Required to complete NEBOSH and MoWWT as well as AP(D) and WAMITAB if applicable to the site.
