Data Analyst
Location: Ballard House, PL1
Salary: £16.93 per hour
Duration: Temporary assignment from March 2025 - February 2026
Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday (37 hours per week)

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Data Analyst to join the team. In this role, you will support the delivery of key aspects of the Information Commissioner's audit by producing a complete combined Record of Processing Activity (ROPA) and Information Asset Register (IAR). You will ensure the Council complies fully with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, making the ROPA-IAR available to all Council staff as a usable resource.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Management: Engage with various departments to collect data for the ROPA and identify gaps to complete them.
- Compliance: Ensure the Council complies with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Training and Mentoring: Deliver training to staff to enable effective use of the ROPA-IAR.
- Data Analysis: Design and deliver innovative, resilient, and user-friendly solutions for managing and reporting ROPA-IAR data.
- Engagement: Support departments in completing compliant solutions for identified gaps, such as DPIAs and information sharing agreements.

Essential Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of data management and quality assurance processes.
- Understanding of legislation and policy related to data protection.

Desirable Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Local Government.
- Degree level qualification in Data Protection or a related field.
- 2 years' experience in Data Protection or data management and innovation.

Essential Experience:
- Project management of data management.
- Collating, analysing, and presenting data.
- Training and coaching staff.
- Working in a customer-focused environment.

Desirable Experience:
- Experience in data protection, either employed or as a volunteer.
- Writing policies and procedures.
- Supporting data gathering and presentation for formal assessments or reviews.
