Job Description

Sheridan Maine is delighted to partner with a market-leading business to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful team where you will lead the end-to-end payroll process payroll process for a large payroll, delivering an accurate and efficient payroll service.
 
This position offers a range of benefits, including a hybrid working arrangement (2 days working from home & 3 days working in the Bournemouth office).
 
Key responsibilities of the Payroll Manager will include:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Payroll function, ensuring compliance, accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage payroll operations, from onboarding new starters to processing leavers.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, including RTI, FPS, and period-end processes.
  • Produce P45s, P11Ds, and P60s, and manage tax year-end processes.
  • Process sickness and absence deductions, overtime payments, and other ad-hoc payroll adjustments.
  • Oversee the Payroll inbox, responding to queries promptly and being the primary contact for site Managers for payroll assistance.
  • Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll management.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries from managers, employees, and workers.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct monthly payroll reporting for the leadership team.
 
Key skills and experience required:  
  • Proven experience managing payroll for a large organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC regulations.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) is desirable.
  • Experience with pensions and benefits administration.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in payroll taxation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels.
