Production Team Leader
📍 Location: Dagenham, UK
Shifts: 6 am – 2 pm / 2 pm – 10 pm
💰 Salary: £34,361 + 15% shift premium = £39,515

Are you ready to step into a leadership role in automotive production? We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to join our dynamic team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop a team while ensuring high-quality automotive production standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support a team of Production Operators and Technical staff
  • Ensure team compliance with Health & Safety and company policies
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Planning, and Quality teams
  • Use the ERP system (Epicor) to manage production processes
  • Drive continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives
  • Represent your product area at production team meetings

Key Activities:
  • Monitor team performance and address training needs
  • Conduct regular team briefings and one-on-one meetings
  • Manage payroll and confidential documents
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety investigations
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and quality compliance
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Achieve production plans and collaborate with other departments
  • Monitor performance metrics and ensure on-time delivery
  • Improve efficiency and manage resources effectively
  • Address non-conformance issues to reduce costs
  • Deputise for the Production Manager when required

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Organised and proactive in task allocation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Data-driven decision-making abilities
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Background in manufacturing with a focus on quality

Qualifications:
  • ILM Level 3 or equivalent (or willing to work towards)
  • Appropriate HSE certification (COSHH/Risk Assessor)

Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Continuous Improvement qualifications (Green/Yellow Belt)
  • Experience with Epicor ERP and PeopleHR
  • Automotive manufacturing background
