Salary: £28,385–£41,782 per annum (pro rata if part-time)
Working Hours: 30 hours per week (full-year contract)

About the Role
A well-regarded Further Education and Apprenticeship provider, rated “Good” by Ofsted, is seeking a passionate Lecturer in Supported Learning to join their dynamic team at their Cambridge Campus. In this role, you will lead and teach the Life Skills and Employability Skills Programme, supporting students with learning disabilities. Your work will inspire, challenge, and enable learners to reach their full potential and progress successfully in their chosen pathways.

Key Responsibilities
1. Course Leadership:
• Serve as Course Team Lead and Tutor for students with severe and moderate entry-level learning needs.
• Lead on the Preparation for Independence course.
2. Curriculum Development:
• Design schemes of work, learning resources, and assessment schedules aligned with RARPA outcomes and accredited qualifications.
3. Quality Assurance:
• Support internal Quality Assurance processes and ensure accredited work is prepared for sampling.
4. Teaching and Learning:
• Deliver Entry Level and Level 1 English and Maths, preparing students for functional skills qualifications.
• Adapt teaching methods to support a range of learning needs.
5. Learner Support and Engagement:
• Identify and address students’ learning support needs, including referrals for welfare concerns and additional interventions.
• Address barriers to learning, such as ADHD, ASC, and Asperger’s Syndrome.
• Engage with parents, carers, and professionals to support learners effectively.
6. Monitoring and Reporting:
• Track and monitor students' EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) targets in line with RARPA processes.
• Produce detailed reports for EHCP meetings.
7. Staff Collaboration and Training:
• Work collaboratively with Learning Support Mentors (LSMs) to ensure learners make rapid progress.
• Complete Proact-SCIP and first aid training.
8. Additional Duties:
• Participate in cover rotas, Welcome events, and peer observations.
• Undertake relevant professional development as required.

Role Requirements
Qualifications:
• Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) or equivalent.
• Level 4+ in a relevant subject area (e.g., Literacy, Numeracy, Specific Learning Difficulties).
• Willingness to work towards required qualifications if not already held.
Experience:
• Significant experience in learning support, mentoring, or tutoring.
• Proven track record in teaching life skills, work skills, or entry-level maths and English.
Skills and Attributes:
• Strong knowledge of learning difficulties and differentiation strategies.
• Ability to teach both one-to-one and group sessions from Entry Level to Level 2.
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and IT skills.
Disposition and Attitude:
• Supportive, adaptable, and sensitive to individual learning needs.
• Team-oriented and capable of working independently.
• Committed to promoting equality, diversity, and safeguarding.
