Job Description
OVERVIEW:
• As a legal assistant you will be responsible for managing fee earners’ diaries, arranging meetings and appointments, and handling routine client correspondence and enquiries.
• Dealing with new client enquiries and setting up new matters, including full onboarding, identification checks and compliance with anti-money laundering requirements
• Typing, printing and processing dictation accurately and efficiently.
• Organising, scanning and e-filing documents on the Case Management System, while maintaining paper files and overseeing the opening and archiving of all files.
• Administering the billing process, including preparing monthly invoices, requesting payments, recording receipts and liaising with the Accounts Team, as well as chasing outstanding balances.
• Liaising confidently with clients in person and by telephone, and with third parties such as Counsel, Courts, experts and other solicitors, delivering a high standard of client care.
• Ensuring strict confidentiality at all times and demonstrating strong IT skills, with proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel and electronic Case Management Systems.
