Job Description

Compliance & Regulatory Officer, Exeter, £Competitive (DOE) – You will play a key role in shaping best practice, promoting regulatory standards across the firm, and helping build a culture of continuous improvement. JOB REF:0824.

THE ROLE:
• Promoting the importance of compliance across the firm and embedding best practice across all departments
• Developing, updating, and implementing practical and efficient procedures, policies, and controls
• Escalating issues, breaches, or concerns appropriately and proactively offering solutions
• Drafting and updating template letters, conducting compliance checks, and designing training programmes for staff
• Playing a key role in the preparation and delivery of external accreditations
• Staying up to date with all relevant regulatory developments and supporting the firm to adapt as needed

SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Experience in legal compliance, risk, or regulatory work within a professional services environment
• Solid understanding of AML legislation, SRA Codes of Conduct, and regulatory frameworks relevant to law firms
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
• Ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines with flexibility
• Strong IT skills and confidence using systems to improve compliance processes
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
