We are currently recruiting for a yard staff member to join a well-established company in Abingdon.


The Yard Operative role will entail the following:

• Cleaning equipment using a mechanised wash plant
• Carrying out repairs to damaged equipment
• Keeping the yard area tidy
• Having the flexibility to work as drivers mate and visit sites with drivers to install or recover equipment from locations across the UK

The successful Yard Operative will:

• Be reliable and trustworthy
• Be able to work as part of a team or on your own when required
• Be able to work under own initiative
• Have the ability to work away from home if the requirement arises
• Be able to adhere to strict health and safety working practices
• Have a driving licence with category B entitlement (3.5t)

More information:

• Yard Operatives have the possibility to be trained on a vehicle mounted crane with a grab attachment so therefore must be willing to adapt and learn new skills.
• Working days are Monday to Friday.
• Hours of work are 06:00am-16:00pm with a 45-minute break.
• The applicant needs to be flexible in their approach to working hours as overtime may be available, which is paid at an enhanced hourly rate.
• Due to the location of the site, having your own transport is preferred as there is no public transport in the local area.
• Temporary ongoing position with the view to progress to a permanent contract with the company.
