Class 1 Tramper Driver

We are recruiting for a Class 1 Tramper Driver on behalf of our client based in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a physically fit and reliable driver who enjoys varied work, including the delivery and collection of caravans and motorhomes across the UK — with occasional trips into Europe.

The Role:

• Position: Class 1 HGV Tramper Driver
• Base Location: Coventry
• Salary: £41,600 per annum (paid at £800/week)
• Overnight Allowance: £26.20 per night (tax-free expenses)
• Fuel: Company fuel card provided
• Schedule: Monday–Friday tramping, with nights out in the cab
• Work Type: Transporting caravans and motorhomes to and from docks and dealers
• Occasional European trips

Duties:

• Delivering and collecting caravans and motorhomes safely and securely
• Ensuring all loads are correctly secured and comply with transport regulations
• Performing daily vehicle checks and completing delivery paperwork
• Representing the company professionally on the road and with customers
• Nights out in vehicle during the week (with paid allowance)
• Occasional cross-border trips into Europe

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Current CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Tramping experience (preferred)
• Comfortable with overnight stays in the cab
• Physically fit – some manual handling involved
• Willingness to do European work throughout the year
• Experience handling large/towable loads (advantageous but not essential)
