Job Description
As the Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance across two sites. This is a hands-on role that requires a multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical background, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving plant efficiency and reliability.
Hours of work:
Full-time, Monday–Thursday rotation: 6am–6pm and 6pm–6am, 46 hours per week.
Salary:
£44,252 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical plant.
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Fault-find on PLC-controlled machinery, control drives, motors, and related equipment.
- Repair and replace motors, heater elements, and associated control equipment.
- Calibrate sensitive production equipment.
- Perform basic mechanical maintenance and support other engineering tasks.
- Test emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
- Participate fully in team meetings and liaise with the Senior Engineer to plan maintenance work.
- Assist with the installation of new plant, machinery, or equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in all areas under your control.
- Ensure all maintenance is carried out safely in accordance with company health and safety policies.
- Be available for call-out duties or occasional shift cover as required.
Requirements:
- C&G Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation, or equivalent.
- C&G 2360 Parts 1 & 2 (Test & Inspection certificate preferred).
- 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, repair, and fault-finding.
- Proven practical experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
