Our client, a leading regional contractor with a prestigious portfolio spanning multiple sectors, is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role in overseeing a variety of exciting and complex construction projects.

As the Construction Planner, you will be responsible for managing the planning function on medium to large-scale projects. Your role will involve detailed analysis of large volumes of data to develop and manage project schedules that deliver successful outcomes on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning: Produce fully linked Project Programmes for site, tender, or pre-qualification purposes, ensuring accurate identification of critical paths, float, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including design, procurement, and pre-construction departments to ensure all work is properly planned and organised.
  • Client Reporting: Ensure client reporting requirements are met, providing regular updates on progress against schedules.
  • Progress Monitoring: Independently assess progress, identify deviations, and report findings to ensure the project stays on track.
  • Programme Development: Prepare cause and effect programmes and narratives to assess impacts and adjustments to the project plan.
  • Risk and Cost Management: Develop plans that align with the project's form of contract and ensure effective management of total project costs.
  • Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure that site Health, Safety, and Environmental Plans comply with legislation and assess their potential impact on work sequencing.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience using Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, or other relevant planning software.
  • Strong understanding of construction planning and project delivery.
  • A relevant driving licence is required for site visits.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in a similar construction planning role is essential.
