Role: Woodmill Operative
Location: Dudley
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday- 8am to 4pm
Hourly Rate: £12.21ph

Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Woodmill Operative to join our client based in Dudley. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with experience in woodworking and the upholstery industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate band saws, cross-cut saws, and rip saws to cut wood components according to production specifications.
  • Read and interpret customer drawings and measurements, ensuring components meet precise requirements.
  • Produce high-quality bespoke, made-to-order wood products for the upholstery industry.
  • Follow cutting specifications with accuracy, ensuring components are cut to the correct dimensions and meet production standards.
  • Inspect and maintain wood quality throughout the production process, ensuring all parts meet company and customer standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure a smooth, efficient work flow and timely delivery of projects.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and ensure the safe operation of machinery at all times.
  • Perform general woodmill tasks as required, supporting the overall production process.

Successful Candidates will have:

  • Proven experience working in a woodmill or similar environment.
  • Essential experience in operating band saws, cross-cut saws, and rip saws, with a high level of competency.
  • Experience in the upholstery industry, ideally in producing bespoke, made-to-order wood components.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret customer drawings and measurements accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work to tight tolerances.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team or independently when required.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and meeting production deadlines.

Hourly Rate: £12.21ph
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday- 8am to 4pm
