Paint Sprayer - Immediate Start | £12.81 per hour | Tyseley, Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00pm-8:00pm (flexibility required between 8:00am-8:00pm)
Pay: £12.81 per hour
Start Date: Immediate
We're hiring an experienced Paint Sprayer for a well-established independent contractor in Tyseley, Birmingham. The company specialises in retail fit-outs, refurbishments, and servicing across the UK. Role Overview:
You'll be responsible for preparing and professionally spray-painting retail tills and components to a high standard, from disassembly through to reassembly. Attention to detail, consistency, and quality are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
" Disassemble and prepare equipment:
o Strip down tills and remove internal components
o Use hand and power tools to prepare items for spraying
" Surface preparation:
o Sand and degrease all surfaces
o Clean thoroughly to ensure proper paint adhesion
o Apply masking to protect sensitive areas (e.g. screens, ports, logos)
" Paint mixing and application:
o Mix and match paint to colour specifications
o Apply primer and topcoats using spray guns or automated equipment
o Ensure smooth and even paint coverage
" Finishing work:
o Apply multiple coats as needed, with correct drying times
o Inspect for defects such as runs, orange peel, or inconsistent coverage
o Polish and finish to a professional standard
o Reassemble all components and test functionality
" Maintenance and quality control:
o Clean and maintain spray guns, compressors, and booths
o Record jobs completed and paint usage
o Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper PPE use
About You:
" Proven experience as a paint sprayer, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting
" Confident in mixing and applying various types of paint
" Skilled in preparation techniques, including sanding, masking, and degreasing
" Able to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
" Excellent attention to detail and quality control
" Reliable, flexible, and committed to high standards
" Able to work independently and as part of a team
