About the Role

We are looking for a Senior CNC Operator to join a forward-thinking business. This is more than a traditional operator role—you’ll be encouraged to take ownership of your work, think critically, and contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.
You’ll operate and fine-tune our Benzinger CNC machines, working closely with the wider team to identify opportunities for optimisation, reduce waste, and deliver consistently high-quality results. Programming experience is beneficial, but training will be provided, and we're looking for someone excited to learn, develop, and innovate.
What You’ll Do

CNC Operation & Setup

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills based on job specs.
• Adjust offsets, tool lengths, and machine parameters to maintain precision and quality.
• Load and verify CNC programs (G-code) for accuracy and efficiency.
Programming & Optimisation
• Modify or create basic CNC programs (training provided).
• Collaborate on process improvements and share insights that streamline workflows and reduce material waste.

Quality & Precision

• Inspect components using precision measuring tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers).
• Maintain tight tolerances and excellent surface finishes through in-process and final inspections.
Maintenance & Problem-Solving
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve machine or programming issues.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting practical solutions.
Collaboration & Flexibility
• Provide cover and support across the team during absence or high workload.
• Work closely with consultants and colleagues to drive performance and innovation.

Key Skills & Traits

• Strong CNC machining experience (Benzinger knowledge a plus)
• Comfortable with or eager to learn CNC programming

• Confident communicator and collaborative team player
• Self-motivated and open to feedback and development
• Passion for efficiency and process innovation

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
• CNC machining experience essential
• Strong computer literacy
